The project room at Tensta Konsthall was started in 2005 and allows artists, curators, dancers, designers, and architects and others to be in residence at the art centre for periods up to 4 months. Each project is focussed either on Tensta and its surroundings as a site of investigation or the art centre itself. Visitors to the art centre can both see works in progress and meet the residents.

Each residency concludes with a public presentation, in the project room itself, in other parts of the art centre or in other neighbouring public spaces.
